American Sunset RV & Tent Resort

We loved our stay. We stayed in one of the group campsites and it was spacious and beautiful. It's true that the RV sites are close together but the camp sites are in a completely different wooded section. Seriously beautiful camping spots. We will 💯 come back every time we camp in Westport. Also the staff is accommodating, king, and helpful. Mel, you're awesome!

We couldn’t have had a better time here. We had booked at a “ resort “ down the road and it was a terrible experience. My family drove into town to get escape and happened by this one so I stopped in and asked if they had vacancies. They were sooo accommodating the front desk ladies were wonderful. The camp store has anything you would need. They had a clean pool, multiple showers, laundry on site, fish cleaning station, firewood etc. The vibes here are wonderful for families. We ended up losing our wallet the day we were leaving and Brent and Stephanie went out of their way to scour the campground and when we had given up hope, here comes Brent on his cart with the wallet! There’s a sweet gentleman named Mel who came by at the end of his shift with a bubble gun to just spread joy around the campsites. My 5 yr old loved it. The office gals Mary and I can’t recall the other one, maybe Beth? Starts with a B, just wonderful people. It was a mile or so from the marina where we caught crab and the locals were so friendly. We went down the road to the go karts and the track was smaller than what we have previously been used to so we didn’t have our hopes up, we were so wrong! Probably the funnest little go kart spot I’ve ever been to. The gentleman who owns it was a delight.
This review has turned out to be more of a review of the town but as far as the resort goes,
We can’t wait to come back! Planning our next trip already!

The staff is an awesome team, Mary, Beth, & Mel were attentive, professional, and friendly team! We had an rv spot and came and went from our site, home and work, never having to worry about our pop-up get away! Pool was sparkling, bathrooms clean, and the grounds were visited by herds of deer frequently. There's a little shop at the office to purchase s'mores, snacks and toiletries, plus firewood once the burn ban was over. I will book again next spring! Been there last weekend 2/13-2/15 for the first time and will definitely come back for more. Quiet area close to the ocean and shopping area. Friendly staff (at least we didn’t had any issues with them). Check this place out for yourself. Full hook ups. Decent prices.

This place is so beautiful, very clean and the positive energy of the employees is amazing. We feel welcome no to a place, to a family.

“Snow White”, like I called the manager, take her job very seriously. She make a “home” for everyone.

At first, she said very serious “How I can help you”, but when I started talking, she give me a great smile. Like Darla, her assistant, who have spoiled my dog, and Chuck and Stephanie that keep all very beautiful and clean. All of them have a great smile always no matter the weather or how them feel.

Bathroom and showers clean. Laundry room clean. I tell to my daughter today my surprise that they no have many place designated for trash, you need walk to the place they have the trash can, but at the same time, i notice that help to keep the place clean. You can find bag for dog 💩 at the office/store in a basket 🧺 at the entrance.

And of course with all are happening with Latin today, for me was a relief.

I’m not have racist problem, because i didn’t take personal and I know who have the problem with their own heart it’s the racist person, and either immigration problems, I am American because I born in PR and we are USA territory. But many people still ignorant of that and it’s hard and sad. However, I feel welcome and in peace here.

And the best moment here is at the afternoon when the deers 🦌 wait for “Snow white” for feed them. Is the most beautiful and exciting moment ever. Look at them walk around her place, wait for her take the food and follow her to the forest.

We are walk distance to the sunrise and the sunset because we are between the sun and the moon, between the river and the sea. Walk distance to the port and the sea lions🦭. I hear them from my bed.

Walk distance to a great pizza place. Grocery and restaurants.

For me, because I am autistic with OCD, it’s hard find a place I feel confident enough to enjoy. And because sometimes I wake up with panic attacks and need walk outside, one of the most important things is the cleaning and the security.

For that I can resume this, I feel comfortable walking around in any time, and safe, inclusive in the middle of the night when I am the only person outside. Mary have good eyes and sense for get the energy of the people. She knows her business.

I trained manager for more than 30 years and the service clients was a nightmare. But here have a great staff, with great facilities and great atmosphere.

I feel in my hometown in many ways, close to the beach, smiley faces, friendly and the best “good morning” “have a good day”. No matter what happen, I am fine and resilient. People here too.

I want my kids come here with my grandkids because is a great place for recharge.
