As promised, the picnic shelter was very clean and accessible. Our family reunion had approximately 30 people and everyone had plenty of seating room. While we were there another family came over and admired the site, and planned to rent it for their next event.

The park is beautiful! Just beautiful. But, this particular shelter had many issues. The two large grills were borken - missine the grate and no way to cook. The remaining small grill was rusted completely through so the height of the grate could not be adjusted. Two of the metal pic-nic tables were bent to the point that items would fall off. After speaking with a ranger to ask what our options were for cooking and were grills available, he suggested we go to a not shelter area and find a grill - since all the shelters were booked. Of course that would not work becasue those areas did not have shade or tables! So, It was a mad dash to Wal-mart to purchase and assemble grills so we could cook for our group. GREAT park. But, if you are planning an event, go a day or so before and make sure you will have what you need.

Good location, near a playground and loved how they had the padding under the playground equipment. Easy to get to for a couple people at our party that had trouble walking.

Nice, clean area for my daughter's birthday party. However, I paid $70 for the shelter because it had access to a nice playground and bathrooms but when we arrived the bathrooms were locked and we could not find anyone to unlock them and calls were unanswered. While this could have possibly been due to COVID I was not informed that the bathrooms were locked. Had I known, I would have gotten an area closer to the main bathrooms.

Grandview National Park is a place anyone visiting area needs to visit. I’m lucky to live close by and able to see the beautiful views from several overlooks located in the park anytime. There are several shelters like the one I rented for my grandsons first birthday party. Or you can just enjoy several picnic areas around the park, with playgrounds for the kids.

Our church had an enjoyable get-together at the shelter. We recommend bringing lawn chairs for groups over 20 people. Citronella candles are helpful to keep bugs away and if you use plastic tablecloths remember to have weights to keep them down. It is nice to be able to bring pets and have the children's play area close by. The only complaint we hear is from our people with limited mobility who find the bathrooms a bit too far away. For people without mobility issues the bathrooms are close by and only a short walk away from the shelter. We plan to continue to rent the shelter for as long as we have this annual get-together.
