Wood Mountain Campground

We stayed in a cabin here in June.

My bed was full of… someone else’s hair. Someone came in and changed the sheets and whatnot, but you should do that before someone stays!

There was a strange smell throughout the whole cabin, like a dog or something. All they gave us were these boxes with gel orbs in them or whatever and that was supposed to repel that horrible smell. It did the job decently, but it wasn’t enough.

Everything else was very clean. The bathroom was pristine. I just think I should expect a clean bed and a decent smelling room when I stay anywhere.

We stayed in a cabin here on a trip through WV and found it a nice, functional experience. We've been staying one night at each place we have been stopping, so we only really needed the basics to refuel before continuing on.

The rooms were well-kept, the bathroom was nice, clean, and well-supplied. There's wifi and a smart TV to wind-down at the end of the night. The two bedrooms are a touch small, but for us, it wasn't a problem as we left as soon as we got up. One of the window AC units didn't seem to blow cold air, despite fiddling with it (the smaller bedroom), but thankfully, the night was cool enough that it wasn't a problem for me.

All in all, it's a cute little place near Beckley and the New River Gorge (our next destination).

Awful. Sites are nowhere close to level. Weird configuration on the power, sewer, and water. The property is listed for sale, looks partially abandoned. Boarded up main building.

They had availability when all other parks in the area were booked, which might be the park's only redeeming quality. Also tells you everything you need you need know. Kicking myself for not reading the reviews before booking. Absolutely avoid.

Campground is super nice and clean! Enjoyed our stay! Do recommend!

We loved it here I guess depends on what you’re looking for. We were in RV 1. Full hook ups, nice grass area and cobble stone pad. Good internet. Quiet. Not many amenities.
