We stayed for 4 nights at one of their 2 bedroom “outback” cabins. It was perfect for our family of 4 and could have slept several more people! The lodging was comfortable and pretty well appointed. I would give about 3.5/5 stars for cleanliness of the cabin, but the overall resort gets 5 stars, hands down! We brought bikes so we could ride back and forth from the various shops, restaurants, and the *amazing* pool! We also did several excursions through the resort, including the MoonTrek nighttime obstacle course and the Jet Boat ride. We went early season and had both tours to ourselves! All the guides were kind and knowledgeable. There are several overlooks right on the property that have incredible views of the gorge and bridge! We will absolutely stay here when we visit New River Gorge National Park again!

We had the best time on the New Lower River half day trip with Mike!

He was fun, professional, informative, and truly set us up for success for a great day on the water. I loved learning how to read the river and left with a better understanding that I can take with me on future trips!

I also have to shout out Paul for the fun bus rides to and from the river. He made a safety speech fun to listen to and helped set the tone for the day!

We took our 82-year-old mom zip lining to help her cross an item off her bucket list, and it turned into an unforgettable experience!

A huge shoutout to Tessa, Dallas, and Steph for making the day so special. They were absolutely top-shelf guides—patient, encouraging, professional, and fun. They took the time to make Mom feel comfortable and confident every step of the way, which meant so much to our family.

Watching her fly through the trees at 82 years young was incredible! The entire experience was well organized, safe, and filled with positive energy. We can’t thank Tessa, Dallas, and Steph enough for helping create such a special memory and for making sure Mom’s bucket-list adventure was one she’ll never forget.

Highly recommend!

This review is for the lodging. None of the lodging that we saw was good if you have small kids. We stayed in the hotel like cabins. They are just like a hotel room minus the darkness. There is no way to block the light so no naps and kids were up at daylight. The bigger cabins have a loft with spiral staircase and our toddler was constantly trying to climb up. Plus the stairs themselves were in the way and took up most of the living room. Neither cabin was very clean from the start and neither had a door or shower curtain to block water from spraying all over the bathroom. The big negative for us was they randomly closed the pool two different days. I understand the storms but the days they closed was clear. We overheard that they didn't have enough life guards. The other negative about the pool is when they did have a lifeguard they only had one. The pool has a big wall in the middle and one lifeguard can't see but half the pool. I ask and they said it is what it is because there short lifeguards. Another big negative was talking to locals while we were there we found out the resort was recently bought by Aramark. They are a huge global company that runs tourist areas. Apparently they really suck to work for and over half of the local staff quit in the first couple months. Sucks that a global company bought a local business and is clearly running it in the ground.

John Henry was a truly amazing rafting guide for our tour on the Lower New. He was full of interesting facts and helped us feel safe and exciting about our Adventure on the Gorge.
The communication beforehand was clear and after our rafting trip we enjoyed some snacks and drinks at the lovely pub. 10/10 experience!
