Grass is never mowed so expect higher grass at your site.

We stayed at site 45 which is a 50/30 amp full hookup site. Pad was mostly level as I only had to put 1 of my yellow plastic levelers on the concrete at each tire on the drivers side and it was level. The water was at this site was perfect for our kids, shallow with small pockets of deeper water to take a dip and swim, we had a few rafts and even the shallow parts you could float in. I’m thankful I had an extra 10ft of sewer hose as the sewer pipe drain is near the front of the camper/pad. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the somewhat high grass which contained clover in turn had a lot of bees so be careful when wearing no shoes or open toed anything, they were mowing when we left on a Tuesday and if I had the guess, with the height of the grass, they mow every 2 weeks. We caught many creek chubs at the site in the 5 days we were there, walked the trails, rented kayaks and caught many a lightning bugs. This is our 2nd time here and have liked it each time! Hope this helps!

Perfect spot for 3 tents and 2 large canopies, shaded and close to the playground so we could keep an eye out on our children. Cellphone service came and went with US Cellular but that's why I love Gerald Freeman, it is truly a great escape :)

We loved our stay! We're definitely coming back. The campground was clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were spotless and the showers were nice. Hot water!! It wasn't fully packed but it wasn't empty either and was pretty quiet. Everyone was friendly.

We love camping at Freeman’s. Are experience is always having a wonderful week. It goes by to fast. We always hate when are last night comes up. We would stay longer if we could.

Love this campground - have been going there for over 20 years. Always clean and neat. Only thing that disappoints me is that in the fall and early spring, the whole campground is not open. We always enjoyed going there at these times because it was not very crowded and we could get the sites back away from people. I realize that it takes more work to keep all the sites open but we were ok with only one bathhouse being available. We would drive to it or walk. I wish you would reconsider closing sites in the off season.

The campsite was clean and freshly mowed. The evening male attendant at the check in booth was one of the most courteous people I have ever encountered!! I hope this will be acknowledged to him!! I do not recall his name, but I spoke with him over the phone as well as in person!

From I-79, take exit 67. Turn right on WV-4 and go 1 mile. Turn left on WV-15 and travel 12 miles to the campground. Campground will be on your right. NOTE: GPS directions are not always accurate. Call for additional information.

General
- Alcohol is prohibited at Sutton Lake
- Visiting hours are from .
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- • No person(s) may camp at one or more campsites for more than 14 days in a 30 day consecutive period at “Sutton Lake”. This includes the reservation holder (primary occupant) and all other overnight occupants.
- • Any person utilizing a Federal Pass for a discount on camping fees must present the discount pass upon request, be registered on the campsite, and occupy the site overnight for the entire duration of the reservation to receive the full discount.
- • You may only be registered as the primary occupant at one campsite upon check-in.
- • All trash and debris must be completely removed from the campsite upon departure.
- • All motorized recreational vehicles, including motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATV), utility terrain vehicles (UTV), mopeds, scooters, golf carts, hoverboards, etc., that are not licensed for use on all roadways are prohibited in the campgrounds.
- • Please contact the Sutton Lake office about questions on power driven mobility aids.
- • The primary occupant is responsible for the adherence to camping rules and regulations by all other occupants, guests, and visitors on the campsite.
