Campground was a hay field, bathrooms were disgusting, half the time they would be closed ,brown water through hose to camper,never go there again left 2 days early ,no issues with the staff

The area itself was well-maintained and pretty but site 116 was nearly unusable as a tent site because the gravel was several inches deep and wouldn't hold a tent peg

Campground was clean. Bathhouse was also clean and lots of hot water. You are camping next to water so bugs can be bad.

Gerald Freeman Campground in Sutton, WV is a nice, affordable spot with electric hookups and beautiful waterfront sites. I was parked right next to the water, and my pup loved watching the ducks float by. It’s a peaceful place to relax and unwind. The only downside is no cell service, and the 6:00 p.m. check-in time is a bit inconvenient, but overall it’s a great campground worth visiting.

Make it more clear about hook ups. We didn’t think we had sewer hook ups but we did. We really like this campground and we have been here before. I know we came in after the holiday weekend but the trash was overflowing everywhere for 4 days and the grass was so high some people brought their own mower to cut the grass. Maybe bring in extra dumpsters for holidays.

Beautiful campground on the Holly river. We stayed in site 49 which bordered the river. We were able to kayak the river and let our dogs swim along side. Our twin grand daughters used a stand up paddle board. There is a small snack stand in the park. The road and most sites are paved. It is a family friendly and quiet place. The cell phone service is almost non existent but can sometime get 1 bar on AT& T. Nice place to sit around the campfire and roast marshmallows and have smores. There are boat rentals available. Flatwoods is o ly 7 miles away and has some places to eat and a Walmart. There are several gas stations.

Quiet Iocation Site 134. Waterview not easy water access. The site is close to showers. Restrooms/showers were super clean. It would be helpful if there were more hooks in showers. The grass needed to be cut. We were there n Monday and left Friday. We'll be back!

From I-79, take exit 67. Turn right on WV-4 and go 1 mile. Turn left on WV-15 and travel 12 miles to the campground. Campground will be on your right. NOTE: GPS directions are not always accurate. Call for additional information.

General
- Alcohol is prohibited at Sutton Lake
- Visiting hours are from .
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- • No person(s) may camp at one or more campsites for more than 14 days in a 30 day consecutive period at “Sutton Lake”. This includes the reservation holder (primary occupant) and all other overnight occupants.
- • Any person utilizing a Federal Pass for a discount on camping fees must present the discount pass upon request, be registered on the campsite, and occupy the site overnight for the entire duration of the reservation to receive the full discount.
- • You may only be registered as the primary occupant at one campsite upon check-in.
- • All trash and debris must be completely removed from the campsite upon departure.
- • All motorized recreational vehicles, including motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATV), utility terrain vehicles (UTV), mopeds, scooters, golf carts, hoverboards, etc., that are not licensed for use on all roadways are prohibited in the campgrounds.
- • Please contact the Sutton Lake office about questions on power driven mobility aids.
- • The primary occupant is responsible for the adherence to camping rules and regulations by all other occupants, guests, and visitors on the campsite.
