Devil's Lake State Park offers stunning views and a variety of hiking options, from easy strolls to challenging trails, making it a great destination for all skill levels. The park features a beautiful glacier-formed lake, ample amenities, and clean facilities, enhancing the overall experience. However, visitors should be aware of potential crowds during peak times and the additional day use fees on top of camping costs.

I hadn’t been here in years, so on a sunny spring day decided to visit again. There were lots of school field trips, so very crowded trails for a weekday morning. There are some fairly easy trails and incredibly challenging ones, but the gorgeous views make it worth it - just stunning!

I spent a 2 nights at a fairly secluded, super private lower iceage campsite and a full day enjoying lots of great hiking options. Whether you want to stroll along the lake or make your way up the rock steps to the bluffs above for a bird's eye view, there really is plenty of options for everyone here. For those seeking a bit of adventure (but nothing crazy), I recommend the stream traversing Parfrey's Glen trail & the very scenic, highlight-filled Devil's Doorway loop. The only annoying thing is having to pay day use fees on top of camping fees even on days you don't actually use anything else (besides your campsite). But even with that, it still beats a hotel, and the gorgeous park and great campsite were well worth it!

Devil’s Lake is a wonderful place. The park has so much to do: we enjoy the lake trails, the beach, there are grills and picnic tables galore.
The park has an amazing glacier formed lake with high bluffs, the lake is calm and very clear, great for fishing and kayaking. The Park Headquarters has shops and ice cream.
The only issue we have with the trails is that if you want to hike around the lake, you have to walk on the road along the South Shore and the Northeast at the East Bluff trail head.

Had a fun day hiking and seeing the sights at Devil's Lake State Park. I got there around 8:30am on a Friday and had no trouble finding parking. Trails by balanced rock and Devil's doorway had the most traffic, but nothing too bad. I could see how the park could get busy in the summer. Beautiful views all around. I spent about 4 hours at the park hiking and taking some breaks along the way.

Awesome
Beautiful state park to visit. Avoid early to avoid traffic issues. Remember there is a park entrance fee. If you have card then don't wait on the left most line for the park office to help you. Yo
Youse the 2nd line usually it is empty as no one knows about it to use for a quick pay and get in. I spoke with the park staff and asked them to put a sign that says use this lane for card payments. It will save a lot of time for everyone. Ample parking inside and if you don't get parking inside then you can still pay and park outside the park on the curb in designated areas including overflow parking. The trails are awesome
Though if you are unable to walk or need help walking or have knee problems avoid balanced rock, devil's gateway and ice age trails. You can do easier trails on the north side. I saw many people were struggling while going to balanced rock trail. Park is great with amenities, ample space to play, clean water at the lake and clean facilities makes this place enjoyable.
