About Boot Lake Campground

Boot Lake Campground overlooks its namesake -- 263-acre Boot Lake. Bask in the sun on the beautiful beach and then take a relaxing dip in the lake, or enjoy the fishing. Boot Lake contains walleye, northern pike, bass, musky, and panfish. In addition, several nearby streams offer excellent trout fishing, and the Wolf River provides fishing, kayaking, rafting, and first-class canoeing opportunities. The Jones Spring Non-Motorized Area is nearby, and offers hiking, hunting, and cross-country skiing. Generally, use at this popular campground is heavy throughout the summer.

The sites were nicely spaced out and the beach was lovely! Also, the cleanest vault toilets I’ve ever seen. Had a wonderful time.

We had a great time here. I used to camp here as a little girl, and to be able to bring my family here to camp still to this day was amazing. Nothing about this campground has changed, and that is what I LOVE about it.

I don’t have many complaints. The campground was awesome. The only problem is that the beach area is far too small, and the beach is overcrowded constantly.

We had a wonderful time at boot lake campground. The sites were very private and primitive - just the way we like it. Several of the campsites are right on the water. The beach is clean, spacious and beautiful. There is an onsite boat launch, and the fishing is GREAT!

We even found a raspberry patch near our site.

Overall - this was a beautiful wooded campground. Very scenic and offered a variety of different activities.

Know before you go: All sites have a firepit with cooking grate and a picnic table. There are no flush toilets, only vaulted. No showers.

Beautiful lake, beautiful beach, toilets are as clean as far as vault toilets go, sites are nicely wooded and private.

Typically, we love this campsite. We try to get it every trip. We were there earlier in June through July 5. We had no problems. We just ended our next trip at the end of August. When we got there, we were setting up and my daughter and son in law stepped in a ground bees nest. She was stung four times. My son-in-law was stung once. We are waiting for the Ranger to come through. We just never caught him. Fortunately, none of us are all allergic, but it was bad news because it was right on the edge of the campsite where other people could be in danger if they’re allergic.

The second issue that we had this year was that the water was low enough that the boat landing was not cooperative. The end of the concrete pad was still too shallow to launch our pontoon. We had to go up on an angle to get it out past the concrete pad so we didn’t drop off into that giant hole at the end of the concrete and then get our trailer stuck. That hole either needs to be filled in or another concrete pad needs to be extended. Everybody that we talk to with big boats with having the same issue with getting their boats, unloaded and loaded this year.
