Kinney Lake Campground

Came in the bar for drink and good. Met Hailey who was making our drinks. Stephen was cooking. Food came out hot and fast it was so delicios. Best couple working here. Hailey is so nice and funny.

We absolutely love this camp ground, it really is one of our favorites. Over the past few years we have noticed a decline in the cleanliness of the facilities. The large bathrooms in the back are almost always out of paper towels, the floors in the stalls are always covered in sand a mold on the walls and ceiling. The showers stalls and curtains are moldy and I don’t think they have been changed in years. Something that could easily be corrected with a simple mop and some soapy water or even a hose. The service at the bar was not great and the food was mediocre. We will continue to go back as stated in the beginning of the review, it is one of our favorites. We just wish the bathrooms were more taken care of.

We came here for Labor Day weekend and ended up leaving early because we were severely disappointed in this campground… here’s some reasons why you should think twice before coming here:
Pool- the pool was NOT as advertised on their website. The website shows a pool along with a kiddie pool and hot tub, in reality there is only a small pool and where the kiddie pool and hot tub once were is concreted over. Previous reviews also complain about this and the owners have replied saying they took old pictures down but clearly they haven’t. The main picture on their website still shows a kiddie pool and hot tub. The pool that is there is VERY cold, with a garden hose draped into the pool like they just filled it up and caution tape along the side. The tiki bar in the pool area was empty, no bartender there, no music no anything even though it was a Thursday and Friday on Labor Day weekend.
The swimming pond area: the concessions at the swimming pond were impossible to get any help, the one employee had his AirPods in and was on his phone or disappeared into the bathroom and we waited for help for almost 15 minutes and never got any help at the concessions window.
The bathrooms: the bathrooms at the swimming pond were awful. I went in the women’s bathroom Thursday evening and the garbage was full, sand all over the floor, toilet paper in the toilets… I figured maybe okay they must clean at night so I didn’t think too much of it. Well Friday morning I also went to that bathroom and it was in the same condition.. had not been cleaned at all. My husband said the men’s bathroom was the same, garbage full, poop in toilets, sand all over the floor. We’ve been to many campgrounds and usually every morning the bathrooms/bathhouses are clean and ready for the day… but doesn’t seem to be the case here.
The “security”: They have what seemed like dozens of people with security shirts on driving around in golf carts policing guests. We heard one woman get screamed at for going “too fast” in her golf cart when she was barely going fast. We got stopped and yelled at because our small daughter was on my husbands lap while he was driving the golf cart. Seems like there’s a lot of energy spent into driving around being the fun police and not enough spent cleaning the bathrooms or serving people at the concessions… or updating the pictures of the pool on the website.
I can’t speak on the quality of food or service at the main bar because we refused to eat there, but from working in the service industry prior I can say that if they allow the bathrooms to look like that I can’t imagine what the kitchen looks like. I know that walking into the bar area it definitely smelled musty and the bartender seemed to be not too friendly to the four guests that were at the bar.
I don’t know how they charge so much for sites here or how they retain so many seasonals. I should have read other reviews before booking here, but I guess I learned my lesson. We obviously won’t be returning.

The campground can get a little rowdy as all do from time to time. We had three different campers next to us blast different music selections all the while the lake area offered a fourth variety of music all day. The lake inflatables were the star of the show. The food options were great. They also have very spacious full- hookup with pull through’s. However the camp ground is run down in all other places. The kid’s play ground needs updated from the rusty metal and non- working parts and some of the swings were broken. The mini golf although it was free was the worst I’ve ever seen. But again it was free. Staff was friendly and the out door live venue was wonderful.

This place has a ton of things to do from chilling at the beach to bands, meat raffle, game room , camp store, and bar with good food. It does get a little noisy on the weekend nights because of the large amount of people and activities. another nice feature is that there is 4 dump stations. we will be back
