We stayed at R3 on the beach. It was nice to be away from crowds even on a holiday weekend. Huge beach. While we were allowed to bring one vehicle to the base lot; I still suggest packing smart to carry stuff to the site. It is also a ways to the nearest portal potty so plan accordingly.
Loved the site and plan to come back.
Wood delivery to the site was great and the communication prior to arrival was impressive.

We had an amazing time at this campground! Cal and his daughter were so accommodating and welcoming throughout our stay. The property itself is beautiful and very spacious—perfect for large groups. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations, and we’re already looking forward to renting it again in the future. Highly recommend!

Best rustic camping spot I've ever stayed at. Eagles fishing, private sandy beach dogs off leash.

This is our 3 rd. year 8th time camping at the English Pale. It is very quiet and peaceful. Our Golden Retrievers I think like it as much as we do. We are definitely Glampers and Cal makes every effort to make sure our stay is a memorable one. There is always a stack of firewood waiting when we get there. The beach is right along the Black River and is very nice for swimming, kayaking or tubing. Cal is constantly making improvements, and it shows. The property is very clean and maintained. See you next year.

A few of us stayed at campsite #4 on the beach and it was a great time! Cal is extremely accommodating with transportation to camp, chopped firewood, ice, and even alcohol if you want. We weathered rain for almost 2 days, but Cal made sure to come down and check on us and warned us of potential flooding. The river was amazing and us and our dogs had the best time! We even had a double rainbow right in on the river.
