What Guests Are Saying
Grant River Campground offers spacious, well-maintained sites with stunning views of the Mississippi River and beautiful sunsets. A beautiful spot, but literally right next to a train track with trains blowing their horns all night. Many times more than one per hour. Not a great night for sleeping!

Trains run very close by pretty much all the time. Other than that, like other COE campgrounds, sites are well spaced and the price is right.

Take the ferry at Cassville and enjoy great ice cream in Guettenburg

On the plus side, beautiful views of the Mississippi from camp, great roads in the area for motorcycles to ride, and extremely reasonably priced. Bathrooms, showers, and grounds were average. On the negative side, trains rumbled through, blowing their horns, probably twenty times a day, including a half dozen times each night. They were loud enough that you couldn’t hear each other speaking while they were passing by. Additionally, the barge flies were swarming and covering everything that wasn’t moving, but at least they didn’t bite and there were no mosquitoes. Despite the bugs and noise, somehow, it was a nice place with nice people so I would recommend staying there.

We love camping at Grant River!
The camp host, Sandy and her husband Frank are friendly and helpful. The rangers that drive and walk through always wave and say hello.
We have met many friendly fellow campers.
We go to Dubuque to the lock and watch barges go through. At Cassville, you can take the car ferry across to Iowa and drive along the hills overlooking the river. The Driftless area of southwestern Wisconsin is beautiful.

Beautiful campground. We were there during week days and it was very quiet with a lovely view of the Mississippi River. We kayaked on the Grant River which was fun and also traveled to Nelson Dewey State Park to do some hiking.

5- star location. 3- star due to trains running near park throughout the night.

This is a beautiful quiet location on the Mississippi. Close to the Potosi Brewery, excellent beer. Hopefully, you like the sounds of trains close by, real close!

Very clean park! We enjoyed the turtles laying eggs and orioles feeding their babies! All the other campers were very friendly!
