This is a beautiful park and well situated along the Mississippi River, however the trains that come by every 45 - 90 minutes, blasting their horns (all day and all night) makes it not an ideal place to relax! It shakes your rig and sometimes my catastrophic thinking got the better of me. I couldn't wait to leave after 3 nights....

We have been coming to Grant River for 15 years. We have now spent a total of 24 weeks there during that time. It is pup friendly, plenty of train action and river action, and always good campers and staff. Potosi is nearby, and Galena and northwestern Illinois wine country not that much farther.

Beautiful, well maintained campground!! It was very full so we had to strike out early to hit the one and only dump station. There are a LOT of trains but ya gotta know that going in. We enjoyed our stay very much.

BEAUTIFUL SCENERY, RIVER TRAFFIC, QUITE EXCEPT FOR THE TRAINS. NICE PLACE TO WALK AROUND PARK. IF YOU RUN YOUR FAN IN CAMPER, YOU DON'T HEAR THE TRAINS AT NIGHT. WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR.

Beautiful park with clean restrooms/showers. Some of the sites are very close together and the way the fire pits/picnic tables are arranged it is as if it is a group site, although that is not evident when reserving. Otherwise, a great stay! Site 24.
