Upon our arrival the canopies of the trees created a wonderful shade from the sun. What a relief not to be in the open sun. The campsite was clean and ready for our arrival. Our neighbors were close enough to say hi but not close enough to have to share the picnic table with. While enjoying the many hiking trails I was overjoyed with the abundance of golden oysters I found to have with supper that night. These are invasive to our environment so please pick them all. The best time to shower is the am, otherwise hot water was hit or miss through out the day. We had friends stay in the accessible campsite right by the restrooms. This is one of their favorites as well with wheel chair accessibility It’s a beautiful quiet campground, I highly recommend it.

Lost one star though no fault of the campground... I chose a rainy time to go. The camp host came around and was pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed the roomy site. And the rest rooms and showers were kept very clean which was no small feat with the wet conditions. It was my first time out with the little camper I recently bought. I had no trouble backing it in to the site. Nice to find a little gem of a spot so close to the Twin Cities.

Nice campsites that are fairly private and separated from each other. Nice bathroom and shower facilities too.

Quiet and sleepy campground in a gorgeous area. Stayed one night as a ‘layover’, but would definitely go back - especially for the fall colors. Big rig friendly-ish, definitely review site information as we were unable to get level without work. Beautiful canopy cover, but no Starlink connection. Ranger on duty was helpful and friendly.

We love highland ridge. My husband and I have done a lot of camping there mostly at the walk in tent sites but have been almost once a year for 12 years. The facilities are simple but clean and the sites are well groomed and trails are great. We have talked to plenty of people with large RVs and they love the sizes of the electric sites as well. I think it's a well rounded campground and you can have plenty of privacy if you pick the right sites. Thank you highland ridge for the great memories. We will be back more and more as our family grows.
