Highland is a terrific campground. It's not staffed, but the rangers, police, and support staff show up often. The sites are scenic and shaded. The bathrooms are modern and always very clean. The prices are reasonable. Theres quite a few nice level electric sites, and the tent sites are top notch. The Rec Area has a great swimming beach, playgrounds, and picnic areas. Kudos to the Corps. The local town (Spring Valley) has a swimming pool, ballpark, golf course, and some friendly residents. Crystal Cave and mini golf are nearby for youngsters' entertainment. Cady Cheese Shop is delightful and near by. Theres a few bar and grills in the area worth a visit for food. But, like any campground, campers can make or break your stay. We suffered thru a young girl who was allowed to screech incessantly all day, and an 40 something woman who yelled at her husband and child continually during another day. Cmon folks, wind down, go easy, and consider your fellow campers who would appreciate a little peace. Scream at home, okay? 5 star campground with 3 star campers.

Great campground - Very wooded - Our site was large and private - easy to get to the campground from the main roads.

Campground was very nice, spacious sites and tons of shade. Would be a good overnight stop or a few days. The downside is the beach and most activities are on the other side of the lake. You would need a vehicle to get there.

very clean, quiet, saw so many fireflies. clean showers. nice surprise parade. tv reception for Fox48 was perfect so we could catch the soccer game on Saturday. beach and lake was very clean and nice. I forgot my life jacket so it was nice to have the life jacket loaners available.

Ok campground nothing fancy, plenty of space between sites and quiet. Not on lake about a 15 minute drive to dam and park.
