Sidie Hollow County Park Campground

I went to both sides of the lake. There was a music festival going on on the park side and there's a boat dock and trail going around the lake with a floating dock you can you can sit or fish from. The wildlife was barely afraid and walked and swam within just a couple feet. Very clear water but lots of growth.

The campsites closer to the main office have a couple of bright lights. I was on 215, which was far enough away the lights didn’t bother me. Many of the sites are really quite spacious and the creek runs cold and audible. This is quite a lovely park. In the morning with the mist on the lake, it looks like West Virginia hills!

Don’t let the cold stop you from the adventure. We were bathed in sunshine as we hiked the smooth trail around the frozen lake dotted with ice fisherman. The creek was still gurgling, fresh and clear despite temps in the high teens. The surrounding hills provide a warm(ish) windbreak on a winter day. Included a picture from our star gazing later.

Nice quiet campground. You can camp right next to Coe Hollow Creek and fish from your camp chair. At night, let the creek lull you to sleep with its burbling. Trout in the creek are pretty spooky due to the high fishing pressure, but you can catch some! Easy access to tons of trout streams in the area. Plenty of HOT water in the shower house!

Excellent little secluded county campground with great biking, hiking, and fishing. Friendly host with a variety of campsites from tent to full hook up. Kid friendly with three quaint sections (ridge, main, and boat landing) to safely explore.
