Campground hosts Stan and Libby are wonderful. They keep the campground in tiptop shape and provide visitors with great info on trail conditions. There are rides of varying lengths in all directions from camp. Trails are rocky. All equines need shoes!!

The accomadations at Hunter Campground were great. It's too bad it is so hard to make reservations on the website. Very frustrating when you can't get in with your friends because only one of you got a reservation.

Campground was in a great location. The host were friendly, and helpful. A great place to start a backpacking trip to the seven brothers lakes.

We have stayed at Hunter Trailhead in the past in mid-September and found very few visitors. We reserved our favorite spot where the horses would have sun and wind protection. We rode six days in the Bighorn NF, which was our goal. The camp hosts were welcoming and helpful. The neighboring guests were great company in camp. The only criticism was with the manure pits that were full, and attracting plentiful biting flies. Given the dates being close to the end of the season, the policy may be to empty the two pits after close on October 1. Regular manure removal would be my only recommendation. We enjoyed Stan and LIbby!
