The accomadations at Hunter Campground were great. It's too bad it is so hard to make reservations on the website. Very frustrating when you can't get in with your friends because only one of you got a reservation.

Campground hosts Stan and Libby are wonderful. They keep the campground in tiptop shape and provide visitors with great info on trail conditions. There are rides of varying lengths in all directions from camp. Trails are rocky. All equines need shoes!!

We love Hunter, Libby and Stan are the best camp hosts, super nice folks and always there to help. There are miles and miles of riding - Seven Brothers, Elk Lake, Florence Canyon just to name a few. The riding is rugged/rocky, but that's to be expected in the mountains. We love the town of Buffalo, we've been to the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum several times, Crazy Woman Canyon is a beautiful drive and a trip to Sheridan to King's Saddlery is always a treat.

From Buffalo, travel west on Highway 16 for 13 miles. Turn off Highway 16 west onto Forest Road 19, where you will travel approximately 2 miles to the campground.
Hunter Campground is accessible approximately 13 miles west of Buffalo via Highway 16.
