What Guests Are Saying

Hunter Peak is a tranquil and beautiful campground by the Clark’s Fork River, making it an excellent base for exploring trails near Cooke City and Yellowstone National Park. While the narrow roads can make backing into sites challenging, the surroundings are serene and well-maintained. Campers appreciate the non-invasive hosts and the stunning natural beauty of the area.

Very pretty campground on the beautiful river. Plenty of room between spots, but difficult to maneuver with a trailer and ours is only 18 feet.

Dennis was very helpful and offered nearby hiking options. Some of the sites are a little close together but for the most part, this campground is quiet and close to Cooke City and Yellowstone NP. We would definitely stay here again. We did have some concerns with road noise but the road sets up a little higher from the campground and was never an issue.

Great place to explore Northern Yellowstone and no crowds! Small Campground, caretaker is awesome!!! Swimming, fishing, everything you need. Mosquitoes are the only drawback. But it was the end of July, mosquitoes are everywhere. Get some Sawyers permethrin lotion, and stay away from people here. We will never stay inside the park again after being here. Can't wait until next year to go back!

Great little campground. Was very quiet with very little road noise. We only stayed one night, getting in late and leaving early. But it was comfortable and we didn't have any issues. I would stay here again if I am in the area.

This is an awesome campground and the host is great. good location for hiking either up or down the hwy. Clark's fork was a season high. no fishing unless one moved to still water. the water pump on the downriver end of camp is not working. outhouse is very clean but there was no hand sanitizer. there was no fire wood to purchase so people should get elsewhere or go foraging. we will plan to stay there in the future.
