We reserved 3 sites so we could have our family together at Hoop Lake to celebrate my husbands 65th birthday with our children and grandchildren! One of the sites available for reservation turned out to be the Host site, OOps! Elaine called to let us know we couldn't use the Host site and with the help of Mike and the Host they relocated us so we could still be all together! Some of our grandchildren have never fished before and caught their first fish and second and third...It is a beautiful location! Great for families to fish, kayak and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The night sky was spectacular! No cell service to interrupt the peace of this beautiful place!!

The sizes listed on the sites are VERY inaccurate. We traveled so far and were not able to camp to fit into our camping spot that we had reserved. Very dissatisfied.

I always stay in unit 38. We had the campground almost all to ourselves. The only negative is the road in to the lake from Lone Tree. It's not in good shape. Rutted. Needs a blade to go up there and help the road condition. The fishing was good. We had a small boat and trolled. I caught Rainbow trout, Tiger Trout and a Grayling. Hoop is a favorite spot. I'll be back .

Beautiful place to gather our family. Grandpa gets to teach grandkids to fish on a peaceful little lake! We love coming here.

From Mountain View, WY, take State Rt. 414 east 21.5 miles to Lonetree, WY. Just passed mile marker 122 on Rt. 414, turn right onto County Rt. 290 (oiled gravel) and go 0.9 miles to an intersection (County Rt. 291). Turn left onto Rt. 291 and go 5 miles to a "T" intersection. Turn right and go 2.8 miles to a "Y" intersection and Hoop Lake sign (Forest Rt. 078). Bear left at sign onto Rt. 078 and go 3.8 miles to another "Y" intersection. Bear right and go 0.3 miles to the campground.
