We booked a stay at the end of January for several days in May. The day before our arrival, we received a phone call to check in and also give us a heads up about the park, that it is small and the rv sites are close together and don't have much space or individual firepits.
I expressed my disappointment about not being given a heads up about that situation more than 1 day ahead of check-in, as my husband is working remotely, so we spend a fair amount of time at our site during the day. We were given the option to book at their sister location for part of our stay, which ended up being absolutely wonderful, and I appreciate the move and flexibility on the part of Snake River Cabins.
However, we did still need to stay at Snake River for part of the original booking as we had someone coming to join our trip that had booked a cabin there, and the sister location didn't offer cabins, so we did end up at Snake River for 3 nights.
The Good:
- The cabin was great! It was clean, had a nice bathroom, and was well set up.
- All interactions that we had with staff were very pleasant.
- The bathroom facilities were consistently clean and well taken care of.
- The tent sites down by the river looked lovely.
The Less than Great:
- The RV sites are VERY small and packed together. We were placed behind a LARGE RV bus, which made things feel more cramped, even though their site says to book with their sister site if longer than 30'. (When asked, we were told by staff that they said their bus was 31')
- When trying to park our vehicle in the site with our camper, (which is a small, 22 foot travel trailer), and not impede on the sites next to us we could barely open the door to our camper. (Photos attached)
- We inquired about switching sites to one with a bit more space, but were told they were all booked, but there were several sites around us that sat open for the duration of our stay.
Overall, the cabin was lovely, though not much space outside of it for chairs around the firepit that was right next to the road. If you're looking to stay, I'd say book a cabin or tent site and steer clear of the RV sites.

This was a wonderful find! We travel with our dogs & got a cabin overlooking the Snake River. The cabins & campground are very cute & well kept. Your neighbors will be fairly close to you but it didn't seem to be a bother.
Excellent bathroom/ shower house set up. This has to be the best deal in Jackson especially for the $$. We stayed one weekend before "on season" & definitely got our money's worth.

We booked this campground based on their incredible website and the reviews.
Well, buyer BEWARE. It is NOT what they show!!!
I'm assuming they get people in the facility that don't know how to drive their trucks and trailers or RV's or they get lost in a brown paper bag because 1. An attendant shows you exactly where your site is and guides you in as though you have no idea how to park it yourself. 2. The grounds are puny, you can't get lost even if you tried 2. To say the RV sites are close, is an understatement. They are so close you can read your neighbors newspaper and hear things you don't want to hear! The spots are so close and small, you can't leave your truck attached to your camper because there isn't enough room! Their website is extremely misleading. Notice they don't show the overall grounds with campers, they only show the nose of 1camper! There's a reason for that!
I gave a high score for the staff because they were terrific!
I gave a good score for the location because it is convenient.
The facility was clean.
The river is beautiful and a nice walk but I'm sure during the high traffic summer months the place is mobbed.
Oh, did I mention the free showers you get? Or should I say ICE COLD showers!
Needless to say, we won't be staying here again!

This place was amazing! The staff were extremely kind and understanding. We drove from Texas and arrived early. My husband and son were going white water rafting and needed to be ready by 11:30. Check in wasn't until 3:00pm. They hurried and cleaned our cabin and checked us in early. I can't say enough kind words about the staff! Great place to stay and very clean. We can't wait to go back!

We stayed in a tent site.
I really liked it being along the creek and how relaxing it felt. I also liked the communal fire pit area. It's a nice space to hang out.
I didn't like the camping spots having such tight driveways, at least our site, 101, had several trees and stumps to maneuver around. Though the privacy in that spot is fantastic.
The staff were casual and helpful.
Also, the chipmunks are aggressive about getting your food.
