Our site in Loop D was level and well maintained with a bear box. The bathhouse was clean. We enjoyed watching (from a safe distance) a moose graze through the woods.

Gros Ventre Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained location with friendly staff, clean restrooms, and easy access to the nearby river and wildlife, making it ideal for campers. Many visitors appreciate the campground's peaceful atmosphere, spacious sites, and convenient check-in process. While some sites may have rocky terrain and the lack of showers is noted, the overall experience is positive, with many recommending it as a great base for exploring the Grand Tetons.

I’ll start with a negative ! When I tried to update our start date your site was going to make me start all over and potentially lose our spot. So three of our days could have been used by someone else but we didn’t want to take the risk of losing our spot. I think recreation.gov. Knows this. The gal at Gros Ventre Campground was super helpful. She helped us use our National Park Lifetime Membership card to get our discount. So, that was helpful! And she was super nice. It’s all gotten so complicated….and crowded. We still love it..,:but not like we used to

The Campground is nice and close to the river. The campground managers do a good job cleaning and providing information as required per the contract.
However, our site 282f is located near the toilet lift station and it smell like a toilet. In that the campground was full, staff advised that there wasn’t an option to move to another campsite. This should be disclosed on the Rec.Gov Site in the we wanted to smell the flowers not the toilet.
