Gros Ventre Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained location with friendly staff, clean restrooms, and easy access to the nearby river and wildlife, making it ideal for campers. Many visitors appreciate the campground's peaceful atmosphere, spacious sites, and convenient check-in process. While some sites may have rocky terrain and the lack of showers is noted, the overall experience is positive, with many recommending it as a great base for exploring the Grand Tetons.

I love this campground to pieces. The people are always friendly. The campground is pretty quiet by 10pm and the bathrooms are always cleaned and stocked.
1 thing I will note is that as a tent camper it can be hard to find an actual good spot to set up the tent specifically at this spot. This campsite in specific was not set up the best. The bearbox was quite far away from the table and the fire pit. There was no good spot to set up the tent that wasn’t on some sort of angle or super far away from everything else or on top of some prairie dog hill lol. The campground was fantastic I just didn’t like this spot.

The best part of this campground is the river noise, it was especially louder given the higher flows.

Nice camping experince. We stayed in 38 EC and had a nice view of the mountains. Spaces are paved and wide which was great. Kept the dirt tracking into the camper down and felt like we had a patio.
Campground was full, but decent campsite spacing didn't make it feel crowded. Bathrooms were fine (flush). No showers, but we used the showers at Signal Mountain Campground after hiking each day which worked well for us.
Gros Ventre is outside the Park Entrance Gate which has pluses and minuses. Means you need to sit in line at park entrance if going into the park. Also means you don't have to sit in line at park entrance if returning to your campsite from Jackson or doing other things outside the park. It also means you are in a less busy part of the park. The visitor center area next to the Jenny Lake Campground and the trails in that area are crazy crowded. Overall we'd be happy to stay at Gros Ventre again.

We had camped here 25 years ago, trees have grown since and we had a great time again. Thankful for the 2 dump stations and access to water. The staff that checked us in were so friendly and helpful great to visit with for ideas! The restrooms were fine but haven't been updated in years. Thankful for soap and paper towels in the restrooms! Definately will be back.
