About Rob Roy Campground

Rob Roy Campground is comprised of a cascading, tight looped configuration along a hillside among mixed pines. Some sites overlook the Rob Roy Reservoir, but most are tucked into the hillside. Rob Roy Reservoir is 500 acres and is a popular area for boating and fishing. It is adjacent to the Rob Roy Day Use Area which has a boat ramp for access. There are 65 sites that provide picnic tables, fire rings, pedestal grills, trash collection, and vault toilets. Max trailer length is 35 feet. Rob Roy Campground is at 9,500ft.This campground will be first-come, first-served for the 2026 season.

Great service. If you need dayuse passes both single and yearly theyhave them in stock. They also sell maps, fuelwood permits. They also sell some really nice gifts that help support nature conservation.

General

  • Operating or parking a motor vehicle or trailer except in places developed or designated for this purpose is not permitted and could result in a citation.
  • Parking additional vehicles or trailers at a nearby site is not permitted and could result in a citation.
  • If the reservation holder doesn't show up on the first day of the reservation, the campsite is released at check-in time (2 pm) the next day.
  • There are no electric, water, or sewer hookup services.
  • Maximum length of stay is 14 days.
  • Campfires at this site are only allowed in USFS approved metal fire rings.
  • Campsites are limited to 8 people and 2 vehicles per site. 
  • Dogs must be on leash.
  • Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org
  • Sites must be occupied the first night and camping equipment can not be left unoccupied for more than 24 hours. If not occupied the first night the site may be released to first come first serve customers. 
  • You are responsible for reading the site descriptions and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment.
  • Please print off your reservation and display it on your vehicles dash. Reservation receipt will double as a voucher for day use sites in the Medicine Bow National Forest for the reserved days.
