There are numerous campsites that have nice break in between them so you don't feel you are right on top of anyone. We had a spot near the water, and although the embankment down to the water was rather steep right by our spot we managed to find a cut-through to offload the kayak and drop it into the water right nearby. The campground we had was well kept and not too trashed. The bathroom nearby was simple ad acceptably clean and there was a fresh water pipe across the street from the restroom. Alll in all a USFS gem of an area. Kayaking up to the top, more interesting part of the lake is farther than it looks and I think I might try the dedicated boat put-in farther north to cut down on the time to get to the northern part of the lake. **HIGH WIND WARNING: Know the weather before you go out on this lake as winds whip up from the South and create very big waves very quickly (it can go from nothing to 3 ft waves in 10 minutes!) ALWAYS wear a life jacket! Be prepared, be safe!**
