Nice USFS campground on the west side of Snowy Range Pass at ~8,000 ft. Between Centennial and Saratoga WY. Easy access to multiple recreation areas including Sugarloaf Recreation area at the top of Snowy Range Pass. Campground itself has 3 loops. One loop is in amongst the trees that remain, and a 2nd loop is more in the open. The 3rd loop is for groups only. There is an abundance of Aspen growing in the area. They are not yet big enough to provide a lot of shade, but it's not just stark open area. A lot of trees have been cut down, presumably due to the beetle kill. Stayed in the open loop and had a pull thru site. Plenty of room for my 28 ft trailer and dually tow vehicle. Site faced west so a lot of afternoon sun. Have a sun shade that I attach to my awning, resolved having too much sun. The site was very level, didn't have to do much of anything other than dropping the corner stabilizers. Slight slope to the pad itself presumably to accommodate any runoff from rainfall. No separate tent pads for anyone tent camping (and there were a goodly number of tent campers in the campground). Big 40 ft motorhome across from me and a 40+ foot 5wheel in the next pull thru site to me, so plenty of room for bigger rigs. Also, site #34 would accommodate any size rig. I rate a campground based on the layout, is it easy to get into, and is there space between sites. One quirk of this campground (and others in the area) is that you stay LEFT rather than RIGHT when entering a loop. For the way the sites are laid out, this makes sense, but outside the norm of other USFS campgrounds that I use. We camped at Ryan Park in a Travel Trailer.

The campsite was very basic (as is usually true of sites in National Forests). The bathroom was a vault toilet but it was clean. Unfortunately there was no water available at the campsite and we were told that the only way to get water was to go to a different campground several miles down the road.
Also the campground host was not very friendly about the water situation (his RV seemed to be hooked up to water so I guess it's just the rest of us that need to go to a different campground) and he had a very insulting political bumper sticker on his vehicle which did not make me feel welcome at all.

I was disappointed that there wasn't any potable water at this campground. Moreover, I heard that there had been a problem with the water for the better part of a month and there was NO WARNING online about the campground not having water. We noticed that many of the "reserved sites" were empty -- I think people were leaving early when they found out that water wasn't available.
We only stayed 1 evening. The campsite and bathrooms themselves were very nice -- no problem there! We wish we could have spent more time hiking and enjoying the snowy mountain range -- it was gorgeous. (But, we were headed home to Michigan and could only stay the 1 night.

The park is in a beautiful area and the host was kind and friendly. However, we gave up our site after learning that there was no potable water despite what the website said; apparently there is a bacterial issue with the water that has not yet been fixed so you need to bring your own water. Our campsite was not very flat for a tent and there were a lot of ants. It was also pretty close to the road.

The group site was actually a loop of individual campsites. No water at the campground, but we planned for it ahead of time. Our Cub Scouts enjoyed dipping their toes in the nearby creek. And the wildflowers were abundant. No bear boxes on site, but we kept our food and trash inside our cars. The host kept the bathrooms and campground clean and tidy.
The ground was somewhat uneven, but our group found plenty of flat spots to pitch our tents. The area was dusty, but not unexpected because it's Wyoming!
We will definitely keep this in mind for our upcoming large group camping.

Ryan Park is a beautiful campground. It is very interesting because it was built by the CCC and then used as a POW camp in WWII. The camp host was informative and helpful. The water is contaminated right now so it would be good for people to know that and plan to bring enough water with them. We plan on coming back again!

Restrooms are kept in excellent condition! Must see - Medicine Bow Peak area. The campground host does an excellent job at the campground. Stayed here 10 or more times.
