What Guests Are Saying
Island Park Campground is praised for its cleanliness, particularly the well-maintained bathrooms, and offers a beautiful setting near a creek, perfect for fishing and wildlife watching, including moose sightings. Reviewers appreciated the friendly and helpful campground host, Deb, despite the absence of a host during some visits. Some minor issues were noted, such as water quality concerns and noise from large groups, but overall, visitors expressed a strong desire to return to this charming and rustic campground.

Campground was clean, especially the bathrooms. We missed the campground host from prior years, Deb. There was no campground host while we were there. The pump water was noted to have issues but was still supposed to be potable. We went to one of the other campgrounds for water, not wanting to take a chance. We were there for a week and the water issue had started before we got there. So several weeks without apparent resolution. No moose sighted. There were noisy people occupying 4 campsites - they were a large group. Would've been better for everyone if they had rented out a group site instead.

A very good place to get your fishing gear together. On the south edge of the campground is a creek, about twenty foot wide, with an open larger backwater. You can try out your different flies and lures and spinners there and maybe catch a 🐟 fish! The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. The water in the well was posted as being contaminated, an advised not to drink.

My family loved our night at site #7 before backpacking for 4 days from the West Tensleep Lake trailhead. We even saw a moose in the creek as soon as we pulled up to the site. The pit bathrooms were some of the best maintained I've ever seen.

Nice shaded campsite next to the creek and the individual spots were spaced reasonably far apart. There are no hiking trails near the campsite

Our stay was fine. We only have a truck camper but it took 6” of leveling blocks to get near level in out site.

We stayed 4 nights. The campground was easy to get to off the main Hwy. the 3mile dirt road was compact and gravel well maintained. The bathrooms had his&hers and they were very clean, sanitized well stocked. The campground was clean and easy to park.
