Whispering Spruce Campground

Very nearly organized campground, had flush toilets in a convenient distance. Had water supply, had hot showers, had laundry, and a small gift shop. Overall experience was good, and I got a camping spot with a view. I had amazing neighbor campers. This was my first camping experience.
The only thing that I thought was the location, when thinking of a camp ground we always expect it will be in the wilderness far away from the road. But this one was so near also, we had a town nearby in 2 km or less. Had a motel nearby, I'm sure they also have mountain view rooms. But this was an experience. Overall, it's a much better experience if it's your first camping trip.I'll definitely recommend it because it's so convenient. And the people over the phone/in the office are very good.

Basic But Nice
Nothing fancy here. Tidy treed gravel sites with fire rings and good services.
The draw here is the view! The mountains sell the place.
There's lots of outdoor activities in the area that make this a good location. But even if just need a place for the night, this park is perfect.
My only quibble (and its minor), is that the Wi-Fi is pretty weak.
But that did give me a chance to just look at the view and relax with my book.

Unfortunately I have to give the 1 star although today after the second Mal I don't feel like showering here.
The sanitary facilities are cleaned once a day in the morning at 11 o'clock - in my eyes far too little for the size of the place. Contact persons cannot be found. The store is available, but empty - toilet paper is for sale, otherwise all shelves are empty, on request the "owner" (no idea if she was) stated that she had no time to shop.
When parking on our parking space, we were first able to remove dog faeces bags and our picnic table has protruding screws. The connections for water should also be overhauled. Overall, the place is very dusty and located directly on the highway, so nothing for tranquillity seekers! Golden is within walking distance, about 4 km.
The view of the mountains is also priceless here, the owners can't do anything about it. I am very annoyed to have booked 3 nights here. We can not recommend this place!!!!
Very very unfortunate because the Place has potential

Tent sights are horrible. Very hard ground filed with rocks. Dirt is super fine so wind creates dust storms getting EVERYTHING dusty. Be prepared to have everything covered in a thin layer of fine dust. Single small Porta potty has flush toilets and super small sink. Always a line in mornings and evenings. Second porta potty locked up. Long walk to RV bathrooms that have showers. No electricity in tent sites. Campground is next to highway. Trucks kept us up all night

The campground owners clearly take pride in maintaining the property, and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The bathrooms were clean, and the free showers were a great bonus. Our stay was enjoyable overall, but our campsite was very small and located at the end with little privacy, which was a downside for us. We would consider staying again if we could reserve a larger, more private site.
