Overall, a good experience. One of the windows (north) was boarded up and in need of replacement or repair to allow better ventilation. Vault toilet was clean and in good order.

Stayed at this lookout with family. There were loads of huckleberries along the road. Overall, the lookout was in decent shape but there were so many bees! They were aggressive buggers too. This sort of ruined things a bit as you couldn't really spend too much time during the daytime outside in the near vicinity of the lookout.

Great lookout! The road was well marked and did not require 4WD, although a high-clearance vehicle would be good. The lookout was spotless upon arrival. Great 360° view. Outhouse was clean and we appreciated the decor. 😁. The weather was rainy, foggy, smoky, cloudy, and sunny. We would definitely rent this one again. The screens on the windows were especially appreciated.

We had a great time again, and the huckleberry picking was much better this year. We love the views from the mountain top.

My husband & I have 150 years of age between us & this lookout was most comfortable for our cold camping needs. We spent a good amount of time in our camp chairs on the catwalk basking in the summer air. Unique to have a few opening screened windows for cabin comfort. Reading the logbook was a pleasant activity. Also hiking in the trees finding some huckleberries, whortleberries & photographing trees, rocks and wildflowers. We did see a mule deer pair one morning right at the parking area. Road was in good shape, last little bit slow going yet appreciate no sharp rocks!

From Cabinet Ranger Station, travel approximately 11 miles southeast on Highway 200 and turn right onto Big Beaver Creek Road 152 (Faro Lane). Drive south 2 miles and take a right at the "T" junction. Follow this road for approximately 9 miles, after passing the “Jackpine Flats” camping area the road spits. Stay right at split onto Road 2222 and follow this road approximately 8.5 miles to the lookout. Road 2222 is a loop road that intersects with Road #152 at two locations. The easterly portion of this road is subject to seasonal closures and may not be passable (first sign for Road 2222) . The advised route up to the lookout is via the right turn just past Jackpine Flats.
