What Guests Are Saying
Pickensville Campground offers a clean, well-kept, and peaceful environment, ideal for relaxation and outdoor activities like biking. Many campers enjoyed spacious, shady sites with beautiful water views and friendly staff. While some facilities, such as the bathhouses, could use updates, the overall experience is positive, with visitors planning to return.

If you’re looking for a campground to kick back and relax, this is it. It’s beautiful, quiet and VERY WELL kept. The lot we had on the water was huge, 117 I think, but all of them are great sites. The park host was very helpful and was always making her “rounds” to make sure everything was tip top.
This was the first time we have stayed here, but it for sure will not be the last. We thought Foscue Creek campground was nice, but they got beat by Pickensville, sorry, but it’s true. The prices are great and with the America the Beautiful pass, they are even better.

The campsites are very clean and mostly level. We enjoyed our site on the waterway and were able to get out on our bikes.

We recently camped at Pickensville Campground, it was a wonderful experience. Site #120 was level, shady, fhu and right on the water. Barges and boats to watch. Loved it. Very quiet, grass had been cut that day! Didn’t use the bathhouse, but checked it out, it was clean. Could use some AC. Some activities close by was Aliceville Museum, very interesting. Not what we were expecting, it was about World War Two POW camp. The Tom Bevell Visitor Center was also a delight as was the US Snag Montgomery ship. A must is The Country Bakery, it closes @2:00. Fresh bake everything. The Lodge Steak and Fish was also an experience. Good food! I will go again! With AMERICAN SENIOR PASS, camp was half off. I give it 5 stars.

I really was an excellent weekend! My wife and I both fished from our campsite, and found it annoying that bass boats were trolling the side of the waterway that we were fishing (all that water, and here you are in my little space). We fished most of Saturday and totally missed out on the Visitors Center for the Bevill lock and dam. But, that's another trip.
The bathrooms were very clean, and the showers had hot water.
