What Guests Are Saying
Pickensville Campground offers spacious, well-maintained sites with a beautiful riverside view, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities like biking. The campground is noted for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and peaceful atmosphere, with many guests expressing a desire to return. While some facilities, like certain bathrooms, show signs of age and there are limited full hookups, ongoing improvements are being made to enhance the overall experience.

This is my new favorite COE in Alabama. So far, I've camped at 7 of the 18 or so campgrounds in Alabama. I camped in February during a very warm week and the campground was practically empty. It's huge. Parts of it were closed and I could see the pipes were wrapped against the cold. I was camped right on the river, as I wanted to see the barge traffic, and was not disappointed.
Very quiet campground. Lots of leaf-blower sounds in the distance. Good roads going in. Perfectly level, site 136. Spectrum/Verizon signal was good enough for some streaming with a little buffering. Some easy fishing spots, but no luck. Bath house near me was very clean, looked like fresh shower curtains. No one at the entry gate, so I went on the site about 15 minutes before check-in time. Host came by as I was setting up, friendly, but I never saw him again. Site was clean and ready. No issues, anyway. No stores nearby, just the Dollar General others have mentioned. I will definitely be back as soon as I can!

We have only had our camper for a year now and have stayed at 6 campgrounds so far and Pickensville is our favorite. We have done the resorts and the Yogi but we love watching the river boats and hosts are very nice and accommodating. We will be going back and plan to take our parents.

We camped here on our way towards Louisiana and found this campground to be very well-maintained. The camp host was very helpful and gave good directions. Sight was level, clean, and spacious. Would absolutely come back here!
