What Guests Are Saying
Pickensville Campground offers spacious, well-maintained sites with a beautiful riverside view, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities like biking. The campground is noted for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and peaceful atmosphere, with many guests expressing a desire to return. While some facilities, like certain bathrooms, show signs of age and there are limited full hookups, ongoing improvements are being made to enhance the overall experience.

This campground is amazing, the best so far that we’ve found on recreation.gov. We were in site 136 on the waterfront and it was beautiful. We fished from our site and caught a catfish almost with every cast, not big enough for keeping but fun for the sport and definitely fun for kids. Huge barges go by often and it’s quite the site if you are not from the area. Everyone who works the campground was helpful and so friendly. The towns of pickensville and Aliceville are about as charming as you would hope, locals are friendly and welcoming, loved giving them our business for ice, bait, groceries and hardware. Will be back next time we’re in that area. Was just me and my husband and our two large dogs and didn’t have a single issue. Biting flies were the only insects we encountered after afternoon storms came through, Off worked great for them. Some sites don’t have sewer, be sure to pick one that does or bring your portable tank for a longer stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pickensville. Site 133 is on the water. It was large and level, but does not have sewer. Be aware of low hanging branches.

Nice large shady campsite
Friendly camp host and people.
Just wish they had sewage hook up at all sites.
