What Guests Are Saying
Pickensville Campground offers spacious, well-maintained sites with a beautiful riverside view, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities like biking. The campground is noted for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and peaceful atmosphere, with many guests expressing a desire to return. While some facilities, like certain bathrooms, show signs of age and there are limited full hookups, ongoing improvements are being made to enhance the overall experience.

Nice campground but poorly managed. Looks like nothing has changed in many years and mgmt gives the impression they'd really rather not have you come there. Verizon cell service was almost non-existent. The best thing about the campsite was that it was a level concrete pad easily long enough for our 33ft motorhome. Showers were useable and mostly clean but short of hot water and very antiquated. Pull through site was long enough that we didn't have to unhook toad but found two of the three options for exiting with the rv ended in a circle loop that was pretty small and questionable whether the big rv pulling a toad could have made the tight radius turn. We chose the final option that was a drive through the campground around a one way that got us pointed at the exit. Site was occasionally noisy from barge, train, and road traffic noise but not unbearable. Bottom line is be careful which site you choose if you have a bigger rig and are towing or you could find yourself unhooking and reloading your toad just to get out of the park.

This is our favorite place to camp. Beautiful campground, the flat roads allow us to walk and ride our bikes. Great campground hosts and the woman that takes care of maintenance does a great job keeping things in working order and keeping the spiders and webs away. I know that is tough to do. We love watching the barges go by. Great visitor center near by and the Aliceville Museum is a must see. Try the Pizza at Pizza Doctor in Carrollton for a great treat. We are going back at the end of October.
