The campground was amazing but the head lady that takes care of the grounds was over reacting to several campers we talked to. We had the same experience last year with her also.

Great campground with lots of trails and waterfalls. Concessionaires presence good. We had no idea you needed a code for the gate, and had to back out camper out and return to the check-in station that way unstaffed. Reservation website needs to make the passcode requirements clear. Also there was only 1 bathroom open (1 toilet, 1 sink for the 4 loops and 100+ campsites that were all occupied Friday night, posted reason was Covid-19. I feel that the situation presented more health concerns from unsanitary conditions than opening more and cleaning to Covid-19 protocols, which is what we found on our next stop on the Cherokee National Forest. I think the concessionaires just didn't want to do the cleaning.

The only thing we didn't like, and its not "this" parks fault at all... is they only have one bath house open. And in a park that has no sewer, this is a big issue. I get its covid, but all the AlaState parks and most others have all theirs open. And the one they do have open is at the upper end where no one is. And, the check-in times for all Fed Parks are crazy... this one is 2pm, others are 4pm... you lose an entire day and setting up in the dusk during some times of the year. Most are 11-12 range.
Other than that - LOVE the park and the ALL the staff is great - especially the camp host at FAWN! We'll be back - open the bath houses please! :)

The sites were clean and the employe's were friendly but they still will not open bath houses. It makes it very uncomfortable when you don't have working restrooms in your camper. And they don't tell you that bath houses are not open when you reserve your campsite.

The campground was very well kept and peaceful. Due to Covid, most of their bathrooms are closed but when those all reopen, this campground would be perfect.
