This is one of the nicest campgrounds that I have stayed in and I have stayed in many. I am a tent camper. These sites are large, fairly private, and drain well. The bath houses are clean, but could use a little updating. Water actually comes out of the showerhead instead of just dripping out like some other campgrounds I have been to.
The army core engineers has dropped their requirement that Firewood cannot be delivered to the campsites. Us campers appreciate greatly. You’re listening to our request and changing your policy on this. It makes it a much more pleasant experience. There is one thing that completely separates this campground from others that I have been to. Cam is the campground host and has gone way above and beyond helping me and making me feel welcome. He has had other house there, Shirley is the latest, who I think he has trained very well because they are ultra, considerate and helpful to all the campers. this campground is 3 1/2 hours from the and I drive past several other campgrounds that I have stayed at in order to stay at this one. I will be returning to this campground for two weeks stays at least twice a year. many of the sites are right on the edge of the water. Some even have small piers. Now, if they can just do something about the heat and the bugs during the summertime.

It is a beautiful park and well maintained from what we saw. We did end up leaving a day early because of the unusually bad ant problem. We have camped a long time and at many parks and this was the worst we have ever had. We had to leave before they completely overtook our camper. We were in site 37 Thanks

We chose to camp on the hottest weekend of this year. Most all of the sites are well shaded and the breeze coming off of the river made it bearable. The campground was clean and well staffed we had an excellent time hanging out around the park. This is one of our favorite spots to camp and relax.

It's too hot for tent camping in July. We knew that, but chose to do so anyway. This place must be absolutely perfect in slightly cooler weather!
The views were spectacular, and the fireflies were lovely!
The bathrooms and showers worked great and were cleaner than most campground facilities we've seen. No roaches or spiderwebs -yay!
I do not know if we will pass this way again, but I would gladly camp here again. Great spot!

5 stars – Perfect Creekside Getaway!
We had an amazing stay at Prairie Creek Campground! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming — they even gave us a spot right on the creek, complete with a dock. It couldn’t have been more perfect! The fishing was fantastic, and the peaceful setting made for a truly relaxing trip. If you’re looking for a great place to unwind and enjoy nature, this is it. We’ll definitely be back!

We really like this campground and this site. The one bad thing is the lack of good AT&T cell service. It is sketchy, at best; and only provides one bar of LTE (often none), and even that often provides no service. The nearest cell tower must be overloaded. One of the disappointments on this trip was that I had to use my sling blade to cut the weeds and "tall" grass around the site. It appeared to not have been cut in a couple of weeks. The men's bath house, in our loop, also had issues. The toilet tissue dispenser in the non-handicapped was broken, one shower-head was not usable and the one in the handicapped shower has a squirting hose the is annoying. I hope these issues will be corrected before our next visit.
