Site 10 is nothing but a long driveway, backed into another site. Not even room for a picnic table & standing water on both sides when it rains. Our circle had 4 hunters leave every morning even though firearms aren't permitted in the campground, I'm sure they weren't carrying slingshots. A family with 3 campers & 7 dogs only used leashes about 10% of the time. Obviously your staff isn't paying attention, or just don't care.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the fire pit was full of trash. I called the office and they said they don't clean them. No other suggestions or explanation. So, I cleaned it myself. The next day I meet the camp host as they came around to clean. I found out that the people at the gate who amswer the phone are under different contracts than the people who clean. Moral of the story...go look for camp host if you have a problem.

We enjoyed a 2 wonderful nights at Prairie Creek. The beauty of the area and the waterfront camping on the Alabama River was exactly what we were looking for. The bathhouse is older and could use some TLC but overall we really enjoyed this campground!

The campground was beautiful and every site was good, no matter where you book. The walking paths offered exercise for pets as well as the play field next to the old bathhouse. However when very full, the bathroom was inadequate. Often the hot water was gone due to the number of campers without showers in their RV/s. They should take the old bathroom and renovate it with a lot of showers, people don't mind a little distance if the bathhouse is nice.
Boatlaunch was really nice and loved the tent camp area on the point. The deck areas could use some updating. Also, there were no trash cans anywhere except for the main dumpster. Definitely a go back to place, but be prepared, as nearest town is Selma or Montgomery. Be sure to visit the Museum, it is very enlightening

I had a reservation for Nov 25, 2022, to stay for three nights. We arrived at 2 pm and noted there was an RV in our site, however, there were no people or belongings outside. It looked vacant except for the RV. I called the front gate and explained this, but she told me the person had until 3 pm to move the trailer. At 3 pm we drove to the gate and learned that the RV in the slot was rented to a person who had left early that morning. At my wife's insistence, the Prarie Creek Attendant finally contacted the renter who said the owner was supposed to have moved the RV, and gave the owner's contact information. The attendant reluctantly called the owner and left a message while my wife stood there. We parked at the gate to ensure the Attendant did not forget we were still waiting for our camp site. When the owner finally called back, he said he thought the renter was staying longer, but agreed to move the RV within the next several hours. When he finally did, it was pitch dark and backing into the spot was dangerous and nearly impossible, but for the help of a fellow camper. All told, my wife and I sat and waited for many hours for a campsite I had reserved some time ago, due to the ineptitude of the Prarie Creek Campsite Attendant. She knew the RV was rented to a person who had already left. She knew that someone else had reserved that site, but the RV had not been moved. She should have contacted the renter earlier in the day, at a minimum when I called her at 2 pm, and secured the owner's information and had him move the RV, instead of waiting until we "camped out" at the front gate and insisted she take action to resolve this matter.

The Campground restroom and shower facilities need updating. More Showers and Toilets with more frequent cleaning.

JoFaith and Dale were the best there is. I was sorry to hear outside of Prarie they wont be here any longer. But excited to hear they will be at Cotton Hill. They will be getting the best gate attendants out there. They even helped with my RV on their time off. What a pair of gems you lost.
