We had an amazing month-long stay at Sun Outdoors Orange Beach RV Resort. The facility itself is fantastic—beautifully maintained with top-notch amenities that make it easy to relax and enjoy your time there. What really made the experience special, though, was the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay great. The positive culture the GM and his team has created truly stands out and made us feel right at home. While everyone was very accommodating, I wanted to especially point-out the amazing customer service skills of Devin! We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

We chose Sun Outdoors Orange Beach because we were unable to find availability at Gulf Shores State Park without having to change spots during the stay. This is our first time staying here, and I’ve got to say we couldn’t be happier with our decision. While this isn’t the type of campground we normally choose, where sites have more space between campers and have lots of trees, it is extremely nice. The camp sites are fairly close together but definitely not right on top of each other. Each site has a large concrete pad (and overall are very level), a concrete patio area with nice patio furniture and an LP powered fire pit. The LP for said fire pit is not supplied by the campground, but if the previous campers left fuel in the tank, you can use it. If it runs out, the office will fill for around $21. Not a bad deal in my view.

The amenities are truly amazing. There are multiple pickleball courts, basketball court, adults-only pool, family pool, clubhouse, multiple laundry facilities, nice playground, restaurant, and much more.

There is easy access to the amazing paved trails located at Gulf Shores State Park. This was our favorite perk!

The campground was very quiet during quiet hours, too, which is always important to us.

I think next year when we plan our trip, we will probably skip the hassle of trying to find a site at the state park and stay at Sun Outdoors Orange Beach.

We've stayed at several Sun Outdoors properties and the resort in Orange Beach has to be our favorite! The front desk staff (Destiny, Devin, Hannah and CJ) are all friendly and helpful and everything we need is on site! This property truly deserves the word "Resort" in the name. If you want to park your car and go nowhere else for a long weekend or even an extended stay, it's easy to do. The park trails connect to the awesome Gulf State Park trail system, so I can explore the entire area without having to ride on a busy highway. I love being able to ride my bike from the park all the way to the beach, the bank, the post office, Walmart, restaurants, etc. Pro tip: get on the email newsletter list for awesome deals! I booked our next visit for 50% off during the Black Friday special! See you again in May!

This place is incredible!! We stayed here the week leading up to Thanksgiving. The only bummer was everything was closed, store and restaurant wise. However, we still make the best of it and the rest was awesome. We could have never left the resort and stayed happy!

Sun Outdoors Orange Beach is part of a chain of master planned resorts with premium amenities for short term or extended, stays for families and snowbirds.
The on-site restaurant had a nice selection and the food was well prepared.
Two family pools, one adult pool and a splash pad for the children.
The team here is friendly, courteous, cheerful, and willing to help.
Unique to campgrounds, sun outdoor outdoors orange Beach offers a dog wash station.
Some sites have a dog pen for you to keep your furry friend in check.
The bath houses have individual stalls for your privacy and protection. Clean and new fixtures.
50 and 30 amp service is clean and consistent. The water pressure is appropriate.
The lake is loaded with fish.

The one thing you may experience here would be that there does not seem to be a sense of community. Whenever you have a large resort like this, there is a lot of concrete. Campers check in and out constantly. The sites next to us changed campers 2x in the 6 days we were there.

While there are plenty of family friendly amenities, there is less of a family atmosphere feeling here. It feels more corporate run as an upscale RV resort.
And with that comes a lot of rules. Most of the rules there are to keep the campground, clean, orderly, and free of one star campers. I agree with all of them! Take your own trash to the dumpster!!

The one rule that I find comical is the 5 1/2 mph speed limit. In my six days there I saw not one driver obey the limit. You’ll get some ugly looks from the folks behind you when you drive 5 1/2 mph. So be it. I’m a rule follower.
We like this location better than the Sun Outdoors in Islamorada as the sites here are not on top of each other like they are in the keys.
We love the place and will be back again and again.
Highly recommended
