What Guests Are Saying
Six Mile Creek is a beloved camping destination known for its peaceful atmosphere, cleanliness, and welcoming hosts. Visitors appreciate its serene environment and easy access, making it a great spot for relaxation. The area was not clean and had not been cleaned this year. I was the tables with soap and a Scrub brush. Very disappointing. I called and left a message and no one has returned my call.

We were one of two campers there for most of our stay so it was very quiet! The camp hosts were friendly. There as a washer and dryer available which was handy. A $1.00 wash and dry, but my loads required a second cycle. The hiking trails listed on the website were overgrown and not usable. The bathrooms could use an updated as the handicap chair was coming loose from the wall. That being said, we would go back.

Our camping trip to Six Mile Creek was wonderful. We camped there Wednesday through Saturday. The campsite is well laid out in a beautiful wooded area which provided privacy.
The camp ground was almost empty when we were there. The sites were gravel and level. We stayed in Site 28 and it was very nice. The shower house / bathroom was old, but it was clean and everything worked. Cell phone coverage was good, over the air TV was OK. The camp hostess was friendly.
We used our stay to do several day trips: into and around Selma to explore the Civil Rights trail area, and over into Tuskegee to see the Tuskegee Airmen Historic site and the Tuskegee Institute Historic Site.
We definitely recommend Six Mile Creek!

The only thing that I would recommend is being open all year long

Sites are large and lovely with sites 15-20 having the best view. The showers/restrooms were not clean (unusable) and the building had rotting lumber. The camp hosts were gracious and helpful. The Selma Interpretive Center is well worth a visit.

We made reservations online to arrive April 1st. We arrived at the campground and there was no one around, no signs or anything, but all of the gates were open. We found our campsite and parked. When hooking up water we found there was none at ours or any other campsites. When we finally found a number that worked there was an answer the recording said they were closed for the winter and would open back up in the spring. The website should have showed this campground was closed.

Since they were dredging the boat landing and their equipment broke down and the water was tooo low for our pontoon to go out, we could do nothing but sit. We always vacation on the last week before six mile closes for the year and it was ruined by the dredging operation. Donβt get me wrong, I was glad they dredged the boat landing but did they have to do it on the last weekend? Thanks

we really enjoyed the stay there -the only problem we had is the low water at the boat ramp trying to get to the river-we were turning up mud.
