We had a wonderful time with friends at Service Park. The peaceful setting watching tugs move up and down the river was fantastic. Nice clean sites with ample room. All but a couple of sites along the water are pull thru sites. But don’t forget the sites across the road which are back in sites but are large and very level. You can’t make a mistake on any sites. Small campground that other campers become good friends. All camp hosts are fantastic and very friendly. They take the time to ensure you have a great camping trip.
Not much around the area but if you look hard enough you can find things to do.
Highly recommend a trip to Service Park for a great camping trip to relax.

Definitely consider this camping ground. Small and quiet on the banks of the Tombigbee River watching the barges go by. Beautifully maintained and friendly, helpful staff. Great fishing right off the park embankment.

Friendly staff, clean, well spaced sites with fire rings, grills, etc. Trails are well marked, but narrow and overgrown. Boat launch is a half mile from campground, so pulling a kayak on wheels was not feasible. View of Tombigbee proved entertaining.

This park has become our go-to place if we just want to get away for a few days. The sites are all hard-surface and well maintained. Many are pull-throughs and are close to the river. We are usually there during the week and the park is quiet and peaceful. The camp hosts are always helpful and courteous. If you are there on the weekends, check out Bimbo's Restaurant just east of Silas. The only complaint I have is that our cell service is hit or miss. We are with C-Spire. Other cell carriers may be better. This is our favorite Corp of Engineers Park.
