Not crazy about the locked gates. The gate had been false locked to leave before opening. This morning was not the case. I was late to work due to a locked gate. I did not have this problem until today;

Beautiful, peaceful setting. We had a great view of the river. Our only drawback was we came away with several ticks after walking on a trail.

Deerlick is our go to campground on the way to visit family in North Carolina. It’s so peaceful and quiet as we sit beneath the large oaks and pines and listen to the birds or boats going down the lake. This is our fifth time and the new water lines are a nice upgrade. The staff has always been very nice and accommodating. Will we be back? Definitely and hopefully soon.

The only thing that could make it better was if the fishing piers were fixed. Loved our stay. Bathrooms on Memorial weekend were extremely clean

We stay at site scam 42. The site overall was pretty good. The only site without stairs however I wouldn't say wheelchair accessible. The bathroom is a good walk away. The sites for primitive camping are all down a slope. The bathrooms were fantastic. Very clean, and handicap accessible. The swimming area is very far away from camp sites and Also down 2 flights of stairs. The park rangers were friendly and overall the place was clean and well kept. The only way to camp with a lake view is with a camper. Unfortunately you had to drive to see the water. Unsure if tent camping is worth the $20 but it was well shaded.
