Park was great, but there were ticks everywhere! Even after applying bug spray, we all found ticks on us. Will not be back unless they spray for ticks.

The individual sites were nice and the showers in the bathroom had great pressure. However, most of the trails were closed.

The staff is absolutely so amazing. I had a medical emergency and they were very understanding and flexible. The site is also gorgeous! Be prepared for rain.

Deerlick is a wonderful park to camp at. It is quiet, peaceful and well maintained. The hosts are friendly, informative and helpful. It is close to all activities in Tuscaloosa, Northport and even Birmingham.

We stayed in the “primitive” campsite area in spot #46 and it was lovely. I appreciated the privacy and how well-made and maintained the campsite was. The set up with the small prep table next to the grill, the large picnic table, and the fire pit were all really nice touches. As well as the hooks for hanging our trash and towels. They even had a personal water spigot just for our site which we cleaned our dishes with. The stairs were well made too. And it was wonderful to be in the forest of Alabama. Beautiful trees with the lake just below. I went on a walk on the marked trails and was able to find and identify several different mushroom species, and enjoyed seeing deer on the campsite. The area was quiet expect for the brief moments of hearing gunshots in the middle of the night (I suspect hunters were not too far) but other than that it was a great experience. The bathrooms were very well maintained with a couple of showers and they even had a playground for kids which I thought was unique and thoughtful for a campground. Thank you for giving us a great first impression of Alabama. We’d definitely visit again if we’re ever in the area.
