We stayed in one of the cabins. There was very little description on the website and no interior pictures of the cabin, but we took the risk. It was a place to sleep, but that’s about it. So much could be done to make these cabins better. The door hardly shut and there was no lock for when we would leave. I finally got a padlock after asking multiple staff. Meanwhile a drunk guy who over heard me asking for the lock, starts harassing me about having expensive stuff in there. Other things to note. There was only one working light bulb when we arrived, the mattresses were from 1950, no hot water and the whole place just felt like an after thought. We did catch a good number of fish, and didn’t let the conditions ruin our trip. But I’d suggest the owners consider some minor improvements at the very least. It wouldn’t take much effort.

The campground was not as described by the staff when I called ahead to book a site, no place to pitch our tent, small sites and no privacy. Turns out we didn't need a reservation because there were lots of empty spots. We asked for a refund and decided not to stay because there are much nicer accommodations for less money nearby. they refused to refund our $50 - we had even paid extra for an additional tent. Won’t consider doing business here again or send anyone to them. Reading through the reviews the patrons are clearly not open to suggestions or improvement and seem hostile in their reply. We live in Alaska and have minimal expectations, but prefer our "neighbors" don't act like this.

Trying to find the campground was a little difficult as there were no signs as we were coming from Copper Center. We took Google's word that we were going in the right direction and found it. The staff was very nice but our check in was not what we expected. We paid for a full hook up site back in January for our August arrival. When we got there, they said I owed them$50 and sent us down to the river to a back in site right on the river. We couldn't find any water or sewer but it had electrical on the wrong side. It also had a bunch of junk in the site. I called the phone number and they said that the site they put us in was electric only. Then why did they charge me in January for a full hook up site? They said to come back to the office and they would find a spot for us. We were then put in a site right next to the deck where everyone hung out. At night you could hear all of the conversations on the deck. They said I needed to pay another $10 ($60 is what I paid in January so that made sense). It was a tight and odd area to back our 25 ft trailer in but with the help of another camper, we were able to get positioned. We got everything hooked up, cooked our dinner, and I was getting ready to go in the shower when one of the office staff knocked on our door and told us we needed to move because someone just arrived and they were to have that site. What??? Did they not know who was checking in that day and what site they had before they sent us to that site? I reserved a site in January so they knew we were coming. My husband told him it would take time to our everything away, unhook, remove sewer, etc. The staff member said he'd go talk to the other camper and see what they wanted to do. So while we are trying to put sift away inside so we could go get the outside done, he came back and said never mind, the other people were going to take the other site. What an unorganized mess that was!!! I think if we were to ever be in that area again, we will look elsewhere for a place to camp. Anything is better than what we went through. Of all the various campgrounds we stayed at over the 6 weeks we had been out traveling, this was the worse.

The nicest people and the nicest campground! Everything about booking, checking in, staying, and checking out was perfect. Even the outhouses were immaculate. I've been in Fairbanks 33 years and this was the first time I've stayed with KFAD and I regret not booking sooner!! Probably calling tomorrow to book this weekend.

Extremely friendly campground. Camp host Craig was great and cooked some delicious salmon for the camp potluck. Fishing and Guide Jackson was great while we were there too! Caught my biggest fish to date while there.
