About Trollers Cove Cabin
Trollers Cove Cabin offers recreation, relaxation and a unique Alaskan lodging experience on Prince of Wales Island in the Tongass National Forest. The remote site offers a scenic setting for fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing.
The site is accessible by boat or floatplane. Visitors are responsible for their own travel arrangements and safety, and must bring several of their own amenities.

Nestled in the trees this cabin is located in a quiet, safe cove. Great fishing. Don’t forget to bring firewood and an axe.

I’ve stayed at this cabin many times. The mooring ball is gone. Whoever stayed before us left beer cans and broken glass all around the fire pit. This place could use some maintenance. It’s one of my favorite places to stay but with the missing mooring ball it will be tough for me to decide to come back. It’s such a tight area to leave your boat at anchor overnight.

The cabin was in great shape and we enjoyed the location. Great fishing nearby. Downside was that there isn't much area to walk around and explore. Bigger issue was that according to information from every source available online and conversations with friends who have used the cabin in the past, there is a mooring buoy...which there is not now. We spent quite a while looking for it before giving up and anchoring - which worked out fine, but it would be helpful if the USFS would update their information.

General
- This facility is located in an extremely remote and wild area; before making a reservation, become aware of bear, water, and weather safety (including cold)
- Recreating in Alaska can present both obvious and hidden dangers; please be aware of your surroundings and be prepared for extended stays due to occasionally poor weather
- Water is not available at this facility; visitors must bring their own for drinking, cooking and cleaning, or treat water from natural sources
- All garbage and food must be packed out
- Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is allowed through arrangements with the Permit Administrator on a limited basis. Call (907) 826-3271 to arrange.
- Same day reservation are available for this cabin
- Learn more about Tongass National Forest
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by purchasing firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- The invasive European Green Crab (EGC) has been found in southern Southeast Alaska and is suspected to be in more locations on the Tongass National Forest. Please actively look for and report EGC to help map the distribution and contribute to management.
