What Guests Are Saying
Mendenhall Campground offers stunning views, especially from sites like #8, 9, and 10, providing a scenic experience close to Juneau. The campground is well-maintained, with spacious sites, clean bathrooms, and excellent amenities, including free showers and bear-proof storage boxes. While there were some minor issues, such as limited shower hours and an incident with communication regarding campground closures, overall guests praised the peaceful atmosphere and helpful camp hosts, making it a highly recommended destination.

Usually our stay is excellent however this last stay should've been june 13th thru the 16th but after one day we were asked to leave because we allotted our 2 week stay. The forrest service guy himself said he would ok our refund but when trying to request it...was told not found . not a happy camper (pun intended) as we really needed that money back

We love some of the larger campsites with views of the lake and glacier. Saw the aurora borealis our last 2 nights!

We had a great time. I was not satisfied with the campsite I had due to wind. I was having my grandchildren the next day and I knew the wind would hamper our activities. The camp directors helped me find a suitable site and made the changes in the system, as I could not and was already checked in. They were wonderful. Bathroom was clean.

The onlone reservation system is very efficient and easy to use. The campground was incredible - right on the glacial lake, with views across to the glacier. With the senior discount, the price was very affordable. The Mendenhall visitor center is a must.
