There were teenagers playing music with tons of bass until 2AM and addicts occupying camp #48 with garbage, tires, clothes, and odd items thrown all over their campsite. They have been there for weeks even though there is supposedly a 2 weeks rule. The place isn't even safe for kids anymore because of this and it seems a blind eye is turned. I will no longer be camping at Mendenhall.

Excellent sites. Spacious and level. Good services at the site. Lot's of nature to see and photograph. The showers were somewhat spartan, no privacy and concrete floors. There is a woodshed but it was empty.

Great place to bike or paddle or just hike around. If you are paddling you should be experienced if heading out to the glacier but the ponds are a great spot for beginners and kids.

The campground is very good, be aware if you choose a glacier facing site as the cold wind blows most of the time making it 10 degrees F colder than other sites or general area. Mens shower near site 9 is great, but use the further in shower as the closer one has minimal hot water.
