What Guests Are Saying
Mendenhall Campground offers stunning views, especially from sites like #8, 9, and 10, providing a scenic experience close to Juneau. The campground is well-maintained, with spacious sites, clean bathrooms, and excellent amenities, including free showers and bear-proof storage boxes. While there were some minor issues, such as limited shower hours and an incident with communication regarding campground closures, overall guests praised the peaceful atmosphere and helpful camp hosts, making it a highly recommended destination.

Excellent campsite and well maintained facility. Really enjoyed my stay. Would’ve been nicer to have a shower that was closer to the second Loop but a small inconvenience

Beautiful park and nice facilities. Only down side was some shady characters cruising the campground. We had our electrical cord stolen. First time we’ve had anything stolen in a campground in our 18 years of camping.

There were teenagers playing music with tons of bass until 2AM and addicts occupying camp #48 with garbage, tires, clothes, and odd items thrown all over their campsite. They have been there for weeks even though there is supposedly a 2 weeks rule. The place isn't even safe for kids anymore because of this and it seems a blind eye is turned. I will no longer be camping at Mendenhall.

Excellent sites. Spacious and level. Good services at the site. Lot's of nature to see and photograph. The showers were somewhat spartan, no privacy and concrete floors. There is a woodshed but it was empty.

Great place to bike or paddle or just hike around. If you are paddling you should be experienced if heading out to the glacier but the ponds are a great spot for beginners and kids.
