Windfall cabin is one of our family's favorite recreational cabins. The hike is an easy, pleasant 3 mile walk in the forest. The new bridges are sturdy and appreciated. Once at the cabin, the view of lake lovely and peaceful.

Three of us rented the Windfall Lake cabin in mid August 2019. The bridge was being replaced on the main trail. But we chartered a float plane and were looking forward to some peaceful times on the lake without day trippers. The cabin was good with a nice dock and a canoe. The lake was pristine and a perfect outdoor setting. Unfortunately, the constant overflights of helicopters ruined the peace and quiet every 20 minutes. It was so annoying that we considered calling the airlines on a satellite phone to pick us up earlier. I would not recommend anyone to stay at Windfall Lake cabin. The Juneau helicopter tours have ruined it.
