This place is desperate for maintenance. Large holes in deck, broken Lexan. But the essentials worked very well; oil
Stove operated great and while the outhouse was pretty darn full, odors weren’t too bad. Love the place.

Great spot with hiking trail to lake. Hard to get to. Need at least 16.5 high tide. I

Cabin was great, but fishing for steelhead was a bust. We explored the creek in detail, but only one fish seen or caught. There was a late spring this year, so run must be late. The oil stove was great. We left it running all the time on the lowest setting, so it was warm when we came back from a long day of bushwacking and hiking on the plank trail. The trail is in good condition, but studded boots definitely needed if it is wet. There are two boats, one smaller for 2-3 people and one larger. Both have oars and will take a small outboard.

Stove uses a lot of oil. Plan on 5 gallons a day if you leave it on.

Had a great time with my Son. Oil stove put out heat but burns lots of oil. Lots of trout in the lake.
Maybe start looking into replacing oil stoves with something more efficient that burns less oil.
It’s a great cabin and I’m looking forward to our return.

KahSheets is a wonderful cabin! We love rowing around the lake in the skiff, walking down the trail to the creek and beyond, and hanging out around the fire. Highly recommend spending the dollars to get into the lake by plane, or a water taxi to the ocean cabin and hiking up the three miles of lovely boardwalk. This is one of my favorite cabins in the Tongass!
