What Guests Are Saying
Quartz Creek Campground is highly praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and well-maintained facilities. Many reviewers appreciate the spacious sites, friendly camp hosts, and access to Kenai Lake and nearby activities. However, there are concerns about the reservation system being too restrictive, making it difficult for locals to secure last-minute spots, as many reserved sites often remain empty.

Ok, first things first, the campground is awesome. Well taken care of and has flushing toilets. The host is awesome and keeps things clean on a scheduled basis.
Having said that, the camper that was next to us, ran his generator all night long. He started it up at !2:47 am and ran it through till 10-11 am. Not appreciated and certainly contrary to the posted quiet hours of 10pm - 6pm. In addition, families love this campground and kids are out on the roads from 7am to 12am, dogs are barking consistently through the day with no owner taking charge. It is a loud noisy campground compared to other campgrounds, so please do not go expecting it to be quiet. The boats and planes taking off on Kenai Lake add to it too. This was our 2nd trip to the campground this year. Love the physical environment but too much noise for us.

Just love this campground!! Super stoked the campground host had firewood for purchase and just adored the little wooden birdhouse to deposit payment.

Reservations system is a joke!! And now Quartz Creek is EXCLUSIVE for RESERVATIONS ONLY….As long as they don’t screw it up…Booked site #38 for July 1- July 4. Only to find I could only book the 1st night and the consecutive nights dead FF (first come)…and I could Not make any other reservations to the site…back in January…Every day I tried and then one day I find it is booked. I had ONE NIGHT…Classic run around by AMR and Hosts who don’t even care…They blame anything they can on the site and don’t try to make any remedy…and they just basically blow you off…This year no one has any type of manners either…

I think I would rate it as the best campground near the lake in Alaska. Clean, bathrooms are nice. Views are amazing.
