Trout Lake Cabin offers a beautiful setting with easy access to the lake and abundant wildlife, including a memorable moose sighting. Guests appreciate the clean accommodations, fun boating opportunities, and the cozy loft. While the hike can be muddy and the toilet lacks paper, overall experiences are positive, and many express a desire to return.
Excellent two story cabin in a beautiful setting! Amazing views and unique cabin with a lot of character. Thank you forest service for the brand new maul and two brand new axes. Wood burning stove works well, but anticipate 1-2 hours to warm up on a cold winter day. Everything was in good shape and forest service does a good job on the upkeep. Thank you!
We had a wonderful stay up at Trout Lake! We skied in under the northern lights and had a good long skate on the lake as they were going off. The only negative was that both axes/mauls have broken handles.

We were worried coming out to cabins on a non-snow machine year, particularly as it pertains to firewood. But we were pleasantly surprised that there were a bunch of rounds and all we had to do was split. The cabin was clean and cozy. The stove started right up.

Easy to see why this is always booked. Although it sat for a week before we stayed there. Thanks to whoever left split logs and kindling waiting for us. It was much appreciated on a very cold and windy day. The lake was still ice free the first week of November which I found kinda odd. I cut up a bunch of down trees til I ran out of bar oil for my saw. Should be close to a weeks worth of wood. Enjoy
