What Guests Are Saying
Starrigavan Campground features a beautiful setting with friendly and helpful hosts, clean restrooms, and convenient access to potable water. While some camping sites showed signs of wear, including muddy pull-ins and maintenance issues with picnic tables and fire pits, the campground's privacy and the quality of trails, like the estuary boardwalk, were highlights. Overall, visitors appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and cleanliness, making it a desirable spot for camping.

One of my favorite camping locations that I’ve ever been. My only regret is that there wasn’t more time, but that’ll be amended when I come back and visit again. Jim and Pam, the camp hosts (not the iconic couple from The Office) were absolutely wonderful. In the limited time my brother and I saw them, they were helpful and kind, passing along the spirit of Alaska in their interactions with us. The site itself is gorgeous, with ample privacy, recreation and wildlife to keep anyone happy. The distance into town isn’t far, but $45 cab rides are enough to ensure you make your time in the campgrounds your priority. Hiking trails are abundant and if you’re aware of the tide times, it’s worth a kayak or paddle board excursion around the waters of the Sitka Sound adjacent to the area. I am so grateful for having had the chance to spend a few nights here. Can’t wait to come back.

My Boy Scout troop has stayed at Starrigavan Campground on multiple yearly trips. This campground is a perfect place for group camps or individuals. Beautiful campground, good convenient water and facilities, very clean! If you’re staying here you definitely need to go fishing with Islandview Charters and resort.
